The firm strives to exceed the quality and responsiveness of big blue-chip law firms, at far lower cost. Unlike many large firms, we do not hire lawyers straight out of law school, who require on-the-job training.
The firm’s concentration is in commercial real estate, although it handles a variety of other matters as well, including corporate, partnership, and limited liability company formation. The real estate practice includes the acquisition and disposition of properties; representing landlords and tenants in commercial, retail, and industrial leasing; construction contracts, architects agreements, and construction management agreements; real estate finance work; and other miscellaneous contract work, including leasing and management agreements, brokerage agreements, and easements. Clients of the firm include a NYSE listed real estate services company (one of the largest real estate companies in the U.S.); several regional real estate companies; a global management consulting company; a German-based U.S. real estate investment venture; various real estate funds, real estate joint ventures, and real estate entrepreneurs; established and start-up tenant clients; and a Fortune 500 life insurance company.
Transactions
Reconsider Your Idea of Small
Some of the real estate transactions for which lawyers at the firm were responsible include the purchase of 10 Post Office Square in Boston (worth over $100 million); the sale of Centerpoint Plaza Buildings I, II, and III in Dallas; the conversion of NationsBank Plaza in Charlotte, North Carolina into a commercial condominium; the sale of the Park Place and Park Place Promenade office buildings in Clearwater, FL; and the sale of 379 and 399 Campus Drive plus 50, 300, 400, and 500 Atrium Drive in Somerset, NJ composed of more than 1 million square feet of office space, in the aggregate. Leases which lawyers at the firm have worked on include ones to Exelon, A.T. Kearney, Inventiv Commercial Services, Amazon, Humana, and Zebra Technologies Corporation, each of which was for over 100,000 square feet of office space. Retail leases handled by lawyers at the firm include Fogo de Chão in Boston.

Christopher M. Vidovic is the founder of the firm. He received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois with Highest Honors and University Honors/Bronze Tablet, and passed the Illinois C.P.A. examination. He received his law degree from the University of Chicago with Honors, and won First Prize in the University of Chicago Nathan Burkan National Memorial Writing Competition (ASCAP). He was an attorney at Mayer, Brown & Platt for eight years, and was an associate attorney and then partner at Hagan & Vidovic LLP or its predecessor for 22 years, before founding this firm. He concentrates on retail and commercial real estate matters, including leasing (office, retail, and industrial), construction contracts, secured financing, purchases and sales, and property management issues. He co-authored Chapter 7: "Real Estate Securitization," of Securitization of Financial Assets (Prentice Hall). Chris is a member of the Chicago Bar Association.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys backpacking, and bicycling including century rides; Chris is a Charles Dickens aficionado.
